With over 20 years of experience in aerospace sensing, our staff are world-class in the design of systems that measure motion, position, velocity, acceleration and attitude. We design new systems that take full advantage of the complementary characteristics of redundant sensors to provide robust information of the highest quality and reliability.
Our staff has expertise in the discipline areas of data collection, analysis and system identification for the development of accurate mathematical models for aerospace systems. The techniques utilized yield models of sufficient accuracy to be used for simulation and feedback control.
Feedback control of dynamic systems including classical, state space and optimal control techniques is within our realm of expertise. Recent work has included the design of advanced experimental autopilots to reduce aircraft loss of control accidents under sponsorship of the Federal Aviation Administration.

Test and Validation

Dynamic modeling of systems using physics-based modeling approaches provides the core foundation for much of our work. WIth an appropriately-constructed model, quantitative prediction of system performance before investing in hardware prototyping is enabled. Algorithm development is enabled with the use of high-fidelity computer models of dynamic behavior.
Our staff and affiliated consultants have extensive experience building electro-mechanical prototypes and low-rate production units that have served with high reliability in marine and aviation applications. Transition to commercial manufacturing is aided by our deep understanding of typical hardware failure modes and how to design for robust performance in the field.
Decades of demonstrating and validating complex system performance under harsh environmental conditions for ground, marine and aviation applications provides us with the "know-how" to get the job done right. Upper Valley Aero has access to test vehicles for ground, maritime and flight test validation of systems under development.
